Naturalization
Naturalization is the way immigrants become citizens. If you are 18 years or older and wish to apply for naturalization, you should use the "Application for Naturalization" (Form N-400).
An alien must have become a permanent resident first and must have maintained permanent residence status for five continuous years before applying for naturalization (three years if the permanent resident has been married to a U.S. citizen).
